NANTWICH traders got together to give
away prizes totalling £3,700 in a Twelve Days of Christmas Trail. To be in
with a chance of winning one of the prizes entrants needed to visit participating
shops and market stalls and spot the 12 images based on the well-known song. There was one
in each of 12 shops or market
stalls.
More than 50 independent
retailers, restaurateurs and market stallholders in Nantwich were
determined to entice shoppers to ‘shop local’ this festive season and
increase the footfall in the shops. The merchandise offered
varied from wines to hardware, shoes to televisions, and books to fish.
Also taking part were take-away venues, butchers and printers.
"Three prizes totalling more
than £3,500 are on offer to shoppers who correctly identify the 12 sites
featuring the Twelve Days of Christmas and submit completed entry forms.
The forms are available from all the participating shops and in local
newspapers," said a spokesman.
A copy of the form also appeared on this website.
Nantwich Book Shop in High Street and Ginger and Pickles in Mill Street
received the forms up to
11 am on Thursday, December 22. The draw of the winners was
made at the book shop and the winners were notified.
lThe
shops were open on the three Sundays of December (not Christmas Day) and
there was free parking.
"A
Dabber's Nantwich" was not part of the trail, but was happy to
publicise the event.
