PERHAPS the most picturesque approach to St Mary's Parish Church is via Church Lane - not to be confused with Church Walk which leads the visitor and locals alike from The Square. There is a little group of old buildings on the right and ahead is one of the town centre car parks. This is the approach to the south porch entrance.   

Just in the picture on the left is the now-closed Lamb Hotel another of the town's historic buildings. It has now been converted into a development of luxury apartments and shops called Chatterton House.
