THE townspeople turned out in force in
Saturday, May 20, 2006, to pay tribute to the local heroes, The Dabbers. An
open-top bus and a following mini bus carried the team, officials, wives and other important people
on a double loop of the town's streets - from the Jackson Avenue ground to
the Civic Hall where an official reception was held. Later the footballers,
etc, went to the headquarters of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council where
there was another civic reception.
